Patient Benefits Program
Klamath Tribal Health & Family Services (KTHFS) provides services to its patients by contracting with the Indian Health Service. Funding received is limited; therefore, patients are asked to apply for other state and federal resources for which they may be eligible. Eligibility through other state and federal resources enhances the overall quality of care for patients. When payment for services rendered are received by a tribal health program, additional revenues help us provide greater access to quality care, more equipment, medical specialists, improvement of existing services, and more.

KTHFS offers personnel who specialize in assisting clients with the application process. Patient Benefits Coordinators are available to distribute and receive application information. One-on-one appointments, home visits, and transportation to local health resource agencies are available.

| Medicare (Overview) | Medicare is a national health care program that covers people 65 years of age and older, individuals under 65 who are disabled, persons with end stage renal disease (ESRD), and others such as retired railroad employees. | ||
| Medicare Part A | Covers in-patient hospital services, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Home Health and Hospice care. | ||
| Medicare Part B | Covers outpatient hospital services, doctor visits, certain medical equipment and other items not covered by Part A. | ||
| Medicare Part D | Covers prescription medication. | ||
| Social Security Disability (SSD) | If you become disabled and have been employed and have paid into the Social Security system through your employer, you may be eligible for benefits paid directly to you or certain members of your family. May include medical coverage through the Oregon Health Plan (OHP). Eligibility restrictions apply. | ||
| Supplemental Security Income (SSI) | If you become blind or disabled, and have never been employed and have no assets or assets less than $2,000, you may qualify for additional income. May include medical coverage through the Oregon Health Plan (OHP). Eligibility restrictions apply. | ||
| Veterans Administration (VA) | If you are a veteran, you and your family may qualify for health care and other benefits. | ||
| Oregon Health Plan | State Medicaid program that provides resources to help pay for medical and long term care assistance. | ||
| Medicare Savings Program | Pays for some or all of Part A, B and D premiums, deductibles and coinsurance. | ||
| Limited Income Subsidy (LIS) | Pays for some or all of Part D premiums. | ||
| Private Insurance Health Plans | You and your dependents may be eligible for health insurance from you or your spouse’s employer. You may also purchase insurance through the Federal Marketplace. | ||
