Emergency Preparedness
The Klamath Tribal Health & Family Services emergency preparedness committee members prepare for local emergency events through staff training, community education and situational awareness. Trained staff work together and with other emergency response partners on writing plans, participating in drills and managing actual events.

Are you Prepared?
You can take steps now to help you prepare for an emergency and cope if an emergency happens. To help prepare, everyone should get a kit, make a plan, and be informed.
Get a Kit: If a disaster strikes, you might not have access to food, water, or electricity for some time. Take steps now to put together an emergency supply kit so that you will be prepared in case something happens. Be Two weeks ready: https://www.oregon.gov/oem/
Make a Plan: Families can cope with disasters by preparing in advance and working together as a team. If something were to happen, how would you contact one another, how would you get to a safe place, and what would you do in different emergency situations? Be Informed: It’s important that you and your family know what to do before, during, and after an emergency. This means understanding what emergencies are likely in your area and specific ways to respond to each one. You should also understand the ways you can get information about potential threats. Locally, this type of information will be provided through television, radio, newspapers, web pages, text messages, or automated telephone calls.
